Strucnjaci preporucuju pastu Colgate Total puno �eš�e nego ostale paste za zube. Prema Administraciji za hranu i lekove kao i Americkoj stomatoloskoj asocijaciji, ovo je bila prva pasta za zube na trzistu koja je sadrzavala antibakterijski sastojak Triclosan, za koji je dokazana upotrebljivost u borbi protiv bolesti desni (gingivitisa). Total sadrzi jos jedan sastojak - Gantrez – koji omogucuju Triclosanu da ostane aktivan izme�u cetkanja, cak i nakon sto uzmete hranu i pice. Colgate Total nije preporucljiva za decu mladju od 6 godina, jer njene antibakterijske mogucnosti nisu testirane za decu.

Ultra Brite Advanced Whitening

Najbolja pasta za uklanjanje mrlja i obojenosti zuba.

U najvecoj testiranoj grupi, ova je pasta pobedila 40 ostalih po svojoj sposobnosti ciscenja, ali Ultra Brite je dosta abrazivnija od Colgate Totala. Neki stomatolozi upozoravaju da, u kombinaciji s agresivnim cetkanjem, visoko abrazivne paste mogu jako ostetiti GLEDJ. Ova pasta ne sadrzi Triclosan, sastojak u Colgate Totalu koji sluzi smanjenju gingivitisa, ali dobro cisti i nije skupa u poredjenju s ostalim pastama za zube. Isto tako sadrzi tetranatijev pirofosfat za kontrolu nakupljanja kamenca. Ova je pasta za zube dozvoljena za koristenje kod dece starije od dvije godine.

Colgate Sensitive

Zubna pasta za osetljive zube.

Colgate Sensitive je skuplja od ostalih pasta, ali je dobar izbor za osobe s preosjetljivoscu zuba zbog povlacenja gingive.Colgate Sensitive sadrzi kalijev nitrat, koji s vremenom smanjuje zubnu preosetljivost, tvrde strucnjaci. Colgate Sensitive bi trebali koristiti samo stariji od 12 godina, ali je malo verovatno da ce je trebati deca mladja od te dobi. Colgate Sensitive se dobro nosila u testiranju sa Sensodyneom, skupljom i puno reklamiranijom pastom za osetljive zube.

Pre neki dan je na tv bilo ono kad reporter istrazuje opasne proizvode i stvarno stanje. Ustanovljeno je da upravo ova pasta Colgate total ima element zvani triklosan, koji je jako opasan. Naucnici u Svedskoj su dokazali da se ovakve paste/ovaj element nebi smele ni unositi u usta; ali je Colgate div u oblasti i kontrolise trziste (a izgleda i vas ovde) pa se ne moze mnogo uciniti osim upozorenja gledalaca. Ja sam tako Colgate prestao da koristim.
